Quinn Release 'Crush' EP With Charity In 'Mind'.

Quinn may not be a band that you are familiar with as yet, but allow us to introduce you to the group and their latest EP titled ‘Crush‘. Quinn consists of members Sam Lambeth on vocals and guitar, Andy King on bass and Samm Jones on drums, together the trio have created arguably their best work to date with a degree of aplomb and to a standard that many bands and artists of a similar sound will look to in order to further their own material.
One of the most interesting facts behind Quinn is that all proceeds from their EP will be going to mental health charity ‘Mind‘. ‘Mind‘ provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. A fantastic idea from the band, one which we hope will gain momentum and go on to raise a great amount of money.

As for the EP itself, Quinn have produced a product that feels and sounds different to the majority of what the industry has to offer at this current moment. ‘Crush‘ is not subtle in how it blends various different genres together with a pop/rock/alternative infusion which provides a flavour that even Twinnings would be proud of. Tea references aside, if you ‘dip’ into this EP through any track of your choosing, you will be sure to find vibes that are reminiscent of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. With tracks that are as enjoyable as they are distinct, such as I.C.Y.M.I.!, Never Worn It and Imperfect Lovesong, nostalgia is never too far away.

With a uniqueness flowing through ‘Crush‘ it truly makes you appreciate the type of individuality that a band such as Quinn can embrace once they have found a sound and approach which suits them. Quinn have managed to find a distinct niche to call their own, with their flagship song on ‘Crush‘ being I.C.Y.M.I.!I.C.Y.M.I.! has a vigour and vitality that is sure to capture the imaginations of many. A mixture of lead singer Sams vocal technique and palette of tones, mixed with lyrics that provide intrigue and suitable instrumentation all sets the EP off in a direction which is sure to leave the band with a sense of increased pride.
Quinn manages to capture and capitalise on their unique sound and approach to all things music throughout ‘Crush’. Although ‘Crush‘ isn’t your typical mixture of tracks with stadium style sing-a-longs, it does hold firm in its own lane and isn’t pretending to be something that it’s not.
The best way to summarise ‘Crush’ is to say that it is an honest reflection of a band that toy with unique sound qualities, meddle with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and project everything that is loved about bands that are quirky and unique yet well-defined. ‘Crush‘ will not disapoint and is an advised listen for any music lover looking for something slightly different with qualities and tracks that can be loved all the same.
