Skarlett Riot

After the success of their Sentience EP, hard-hitting UK quartet Skarlett Riot soon began to attract interest from far and wide. Signing deals with The Artery Foundation and Artery Global was just the beginning for this highly rated act – soon they had signed a worldwide record deal with the pro-active and forward thinking Swedish label Despotz Records. This lot? Are not to be missed! At The Black Heart at 15:30

Who are you looking forward to seeing at Camden Rocks Festival 2018?

Carcer City and The Fallen State. Both bands are on our agency, I’ve heard great things about both bands so I’m looking forward to checking them out. The Fallen State have been on tour with Seether and Puddle of Mud this year too and have a lot of hype, their name seems to be everywhere so I can’t wait to see what they’ve got!

Is there any band you want to see that you’ll be forced to miss this year?

We’re gonna get round as many bands as we can but sometimes clashes happen! Last year we couldn’t even get into the underworld, queues were down several streets! We may have to arrive early for bands playing there this time!

Who would you recommend for next year?

I’d recommend… Halestorm? Against The Current? Lacuna Coil? In Flames? Some good metal/hard rock bands to tear the roof off!

How would you sell the event to someone thinking of attending this year’s festival?

Camden Rocks is a festival with an amazing atmosphere year in and out, everyone is in high spirits and every venue has versatile music, so there’s something for everyone. For such a small price you can watch so many bands, big ones to bands you’ve never heard of which might turn out to be your new favourite discovery! Get down and support this amazing!

Missing Andy

“Who is Missing Andy and where is Missing Andy?” I hear you ask. Well, good news for you! I have both of these questions answered! Missing Andy are a five-piece band specialising in Brit Pop Rock from Essex. First answer out of the way, the second answer? Missing Andy will be at Camden Rocks tomorrow, at Fest Camden for 19:45.

Who are you looking forward to seeing at Camden Rocks Festival 2018?

I’m looking forward to catching the rifles play. Heard nothing but good things and they’ll be on just after us. We’ll be there, beer in hand so we will see what they’re like. FEST seems to be the place to be this weekend that’s for sure!

Is there any band you want to see that you’ll be forced to miss this year?

I’d like to have caught Mallory Knox – got a few of their tracks on my playlist. Maximo Park would have been cool just to see if he can still jump as high as the old days! 🙂

Who would you recommend for next year?

I’d say get Missing Andy back in KOKO. It’s been a while. We may we’ll be interested in launching our next album there – again !!!

How would you sell the event to someone thinking of attending this year’s festival?

If you like the frolics of Camden and diversity in music, then get yourselves a ticket to CamdenFest and if you’re up for a particularly ‘let’s fuckin Av it’ set, be sure to pass by FEST at 7.30 pm for Missing Andy!!!!

P.s- we’re playing a brand new/unheard track!

The Bongo Club

Coming all the way from Borås in Sweden, The Bongo Club are certainly unique enough to catch the attention of the most unobserving individuals amongst you. The dabble (rather well to be honest) in the genre of rock and are set to light up The Black Heart at 18:30

Who are you looking forward to seeing at Camden Rocks Festival 2018?

I’m hoping to be able to catch a bit of Blood Red Shoes. I’ve seen them back in Sweden a couple of years back and their set was killer already back then. We’re doing a show with Toffees the day before Camden so I’ll gladly recommend them as well.

Is there any band you want to see that you’ll be forced to miss this year?

I think it’s gonna be tight to catch both Blood Red Shoes and Twin Atlantic unfortunately. God knows I’ll try though.

Who would you recommend for next year?

Paper Buoys from Birmingham. Their debut album is killer. We’re doing a short tour with them this week and I can’t wait to catch them live.

How would you sell the event to someone thinking of attending this year’s festival?
I think the festival does a pretty good job at selling itself. I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend a day in Camden, drinking and listening to some of the best bands there are? I know I would, and I know I will.

The Muffin Heads

Self-described “3 piece rock/punk/grunge sandwich formed in Essex”. The Muffin Heads are playing The Fiddlers Elbow at 18:30.

Who are you looking forward to seeing at Camden Rocks Festival 2018?

HVMM – sexy, dirty, groovy tunes which should be part of the Peaky Blinders soundtrack. Need I say more?! Tune to listen for: Lacerate

IAMWARFACE – Electro rock with straight up attitude. When I first saw these guys I was blown away – you couldn’t get into the venue when they played Camden Rocks last year! Tune to listen for: Say My Name

PIL – Whether you love or hate John Lydon you cannot disagree that he’s been a major influence on music in the UK. First time seeing PIL so looking forward to soaking it up.

Is there any band you want to see that you’ll be forced to miss this year?

Riskee and the Ridicule, The Professionals

Who would you recommend for next year?

Yur Mum, The Hives, Deap Vally and The Lunar Effect

How would you sell the event to someone thinking of attending this year’s festival?

You can see your favourites mixed in with some of the best new bands in the country. There is literally something for everyone plus you can savour the incredible sights and sounds of Camden Town. It’s the perfect festival to find your new favourite band – which could be us, The Muffin Heads, playing at The Fiddlers Elbow at 16:30! D

Strides

Strides? Take it in your stride and go and see them at the Crescent for 14:30.

Who are you looking forward to seeing at Camden Rocks Festival 2018?

Maximo Park, got to love the nostalgic indie bands which we grew up on, and they put on a decent show! PIL will be insane, we have a lot of punk influences. Who can forget the soap girls, if you know you know.

Is there any band you want to see that you’ll be forced to miss this year?

Apparently so, The Rifles are playing in the Doc Marten Boot Room and understandably the tickets are limited so we’ll miss them. We saw them support Libertines in Hyde Park though. If you get a chance to catch them it’s well worth it!

Who would you recommend for next year?

Besides from us? We would like to see Pale Waves on the bill, along with the DMA’s, perhaps Jack Penáte will make a miraculous comeback!

How would you sell the event to someone thinking of attending this year’s festival?

That’s why you pay your marketing team the big bucks, isn’t it? Bottom line… if you don’t want rock n roll to die to the likes of Justin Bieber… keep f****ng buying tickets to smaller festivals!!!

Hightown Parade

The band described themselves as “Flamboyant and musically diverse, Infectious melodies, stomping rhythms, and a vigorous dialogue between guitar and piano”. The band drift between rock and glam rock and you can catch them at Fiddlers for 3:30!

Who are you looking forward to seeing at Camden Rocks Festival 2018?

Sleep Token‘ because my mate Gareth keeps going on about them and I have a sneaking suspicion he’s secretly their anonymous vocalist Vessel and I want to catch him out.

Who would you recommend for next year?

CLT DRP!!  3 piece that makes exciting Pure driven Anarchic Alternative Electronic Punk

How would you sell the festival to people thinking of attending:

It’s like a festival for people who love live music but hate festivals. Same amount of great music as a normal festival but without the grossness of camping and portaloos because it just takes place all over Camden.
