Album Review: Rewiring // Zsüd
Zsüd is an up and coming singer and producer from Hungary. She recently released her debut album Rewiring last month. The album is based around her emotions that can be heard in the music and felt in the lyrics. The working process for the album was varied because some songs started out on the piano, while others emerged from sound design elements. This results in an eclectic mix of songs that showcase her talent well.

The music is melodic but equally unsettling. The anxious lyrics compliment them well because they bring Zsüd’s vulnerability out in the open. For example, on ‘fuck, yourebackinmyhead’ she talks about her thoughts over a disruptive beat: “would you please get the fuck out of here” before dropping into the infectious chorus.
‘2am’ is a wave of calming emotions. The jazzy bass guitar and samples of the beach make the listener feel calm. ‘Birds’ is equally relaxing because the arpeggiated synths work well with the euphoric beat. It puts you in a state of bliss.
Rewiring is a great album because it lays Zsüd’s feelings bare like an open book. I can’t wait to see what she comes out with in the future.
