EP Review: With You (In Mind) // Halo Kitsch

Halo Kitsch is releasing her debut EP ‘With You (In Mind)’ on November 18 in honour of her late best friend Jillian, who passed away in January. The album is produced by Ben Zelico, who’s also worked with Girlpool.

The album touches on themes like manipulation, such as on “Daddy’s Girl” which has a chorus that packs a punch. It’s extremely vulnerable vocal is also incredibly passionate. It’s the same in “Jillian”, because she puts her heart and soul into the performance. This translates across the whole EP.

When you listen to the album, it is truly heartfelt, and the minor chords in “EVERYTHING I HAVE IN MY LIFE” make a catchy pop song appear more gloomy. Nevertheless, this is a song that is at home on the radio. The EP is raw and tender, laying the artist’s thoughts bare. It’ll touch the hearts of anyone who listens.
