Featured – Long Teeth Release 'Nice Guys'

Long Teeth are a trio from East London who began playing music together in a tiny rehearsal room in Manor House. The band have just released their latest track titled ‘Nice Guys‘ through Drastic Decline Records.

Since playing their first gig in Hoxton, Long Teeth have sold out reputable venues such as Shacklewell Arms, The Old Blue Last and the now defunct Power Lunches. Their live set has evolved into an exciting and frantic collection of songs. Four of these songs have been recorded with Margo Broom (Fat White Family, Goat Girl) at Hermitage Road Studios in North London.

‘Nice Guys’ is the second release from the band’s Canned Laughter EP. ‘Nice Guys’ is a slacker-pop story of a frustrated and entitled character. He yearns for the affections of the unattainable women he sees with “undeserving” men.

The track is made up of leisurely guitars, supported by steady drums and idle bass lines which offer an attentive look into the downturn and lament temperament of ‘Nice Guys’. As for the lyrics, they provide a characterful three-minute masterstroke in how to tell a story and paint a picture all in one successful swoop, with lines such as “Why you always into arseholes girl? That’s not very hygienic” its true tongue and cheek to the core whilst retaining the ability to be something unique and fantastic.

Accompanying the release of ‘Nice Guys‘ is a music video by Callum Scott-Dyson of CSD Videography which can be seen by clicking the image in the review above. The video explores further creativity and provides a fantastic backdrop which adds additional colour to an already varied package of humour, wit, musicianship and great storytelling. Make sure you take the time to view the video as it doesn’t disappoint.
