Featured – Lost Like Alice 'Thread' EP Review.
Ben Parker, better known as ‘Lost Like Alice’, is making noise amongst the industries most notable up and comers with his guitar tones and storytelling amongst many other attributes. It seems music runs in the family for Ben as his parents were often involved in monthly gigs and events where he grew up in North Wales. We are taking a look at the six track debut EP titled ‘Thread’ which is enriched with Ben’s taste in music which includes genres such as rock music and blues. The Lost Like Alice singer goes on to say that:
“This ep has taught me that I don’t have to stick to one style of music. It took me a while to realise that I have the freedom to make the music I want to hear and play, and feel I have finally found my way as a songwriter”.

To begin, ‘Thread is an immersive, immeasurable, soul-searching debut EP from ‘Lost Like Alice’. Guitar tones resonate through each and every chord and connect across each and every angle in which they are delivered. Not one song on this EP can be considered exactly familiar to the last, with a distinctly broad level of offerings which cover all music needs from delicate and gentle, to driven and decisive in character.
The musicianship throughout ‘Thread’ sees our favourite track ‘I Won’t Wait’ set out a calling card ahead of the rest of the tracks on this EP with a glaring and hypnotising element. An element which is often found in tracks belonging to household names and big stars alike. In this near four-minute, impactful and immersive track it really is not hard to see what you are being offered for the remainder of the ‘Thread’ EP. An arrangement, which throughout ‘I Won’t Wait’ gives way in all of the right places to make space for vocals, tones and imagination alike to shine through and draw you in.
The sense of journey is something that this EP does not lack, it is equally adept at providing tracks for your summer playlist as it is for your lazy Sunday afternoons (if you are lucky enough to have them). It is a fantastic debut EP from a musician that is going to continue to rise rapidly if the level of quality can be continued and improved on going forward. Lost Like Alice will be in and around the best up and comers and we predict that next year will be the year that things really begin to take off.
