Fridays Finest featuring Ivory Wave, Cruelty, Gaffa Tape Sandy and KAHLLA
This week we bring you our latest feature, Fridays Finest. Teaming up with CLUNK Magazine, It’s All Indie and Turtle Tempo, we give you the low down on some of our favourite releases and artists so that you can get to know them, and their content better.
Nexus Selects – Ivory Wave
The Bristol-based art-punk outfit have been turning heads recently, especially as they were hand picked by IDLES to play their hometown after party show. The future is exciting for this visceral band. Recently they shared the single ‘Disgraced’, a dark brooding track that explores the relationship between mental health and romantic love. The harsh vocals backed by the eerie synth create an aura of unease yet remains terribly infectious. Nexus selects Ivory Wave.
Ivory Wave are based out of Birmingham. The four-piece have wasted no time in catapulting themselves to the forefront of a host of emerging talent currently on offer with the latest track “Frankie“. The lads came to our attention with “Separate Beat“, and “Frankie” reflects all that is good about the band. It’s honest, youthful and has that signature Ivory Wave feel. You really should get your ears around this band!

It’s All Indie Selects – Gaffa Tape Sandy

Formed in 2015 by three friends with a desire to do something loud and exciting, the Bury St Edmunds based band, Gaffa Tape Sandy, have launched their epic new single “Meat Head” with it building on their high-octane previous releases such as “Beehive” and “Water Bottle“. The new track comes right at the perfect time of year, just before the festival season is in its peak in Europe and sees the band chance up the vocal duties once again, which just gives the trio even more depth. This track really does tick all of the boxes for us, so why not head on down below and check it out.
Turtle Tempo Selects – KAHLLA

Our Friday’s Finest selection this week comes from KAHLLA, an electro-pop soloist formerly known as Katharsis, the London-based artist has just released her debut EP ‘Come With Me’ which features two remixed versions of the title track and debut single, with a string of singles promised in the coming months KAHLLA may prove to be a name to watch out for.
