Whilst Drew hails from the North of England he is an adopted Londoner; he’s trodden the boards of venues and festivals across the UK and Europe with various bands, worked in musical collaborations, written for other artists and sang in session gigs to get by.

This latest track (Mrs Taylor) by Drew Davies provides a welcomed reminder that fantastic talent continues to emerge in and around the UK. Coupled with great tones, great sound and great feeling, you’ll be wanting to get your teeth into this. The overwhelming feeling of this is that it is a foot-stomping, attitude-laden rock rhythm for the road. Place it in your ears, keep it in your mind.

CATBEAR – Unrequited Love

CATBEAR

CATBEAR have recently released quite an astounding new single, “Unrequited Love”, and when I first heard it I knew it was ‘Track of the week’ quality. The band hail from London and was born out of the London grrrl movement in the mid-2010s, with the band delivering some indie-pop classics draped in synth and warm vocals and are one of the latest duos that are self-producing their own music, giving them a lot more freedom than usual.

The track itself has some beautiful moments in it, with the high notes in the background making it almost danceable, it’s got the fizz of a synth-pop track that we all crave as heard in the opening few seconds. Lots of layers too and with some warm vocals topping it off the track is something that even CHVRCHES would be proud to call their own, CATBEAR are Zoe Konez (lead guitar, vocals, production) and Sarah Smith (drums, vocals) and if you get the chance to see them live be sure to, it’ll be no-time before more and more people are falling in love with their music.

Hailing from Leeds, quartet Ørmstons are speedily making a name of themselves for their incredible live shows which have seen them support the likes of Anteros and Bombay Bicycle Club. Their brand new single ‘Love’ is to put it simply, very loveable and will no doubt become a fan-favourite to their loyal fanbase.

Twin Atlantic – Novocaine

The Glasgow trio are back! Yes, that’s right, Twin Atlantic have made their alt-rock return since the release of their studio album GLA in 2016.
The new single, called ‘Novocaine’ is an anthemic chart-hitter that has already been championed by the big guns at BBC Radio 1.

Twin Atlantic go to their traditional roots by producing a punchy track with delicious guitar hooks. Accompanying a stomping drum beat and Sam McTrusty’s seductive vocals. The new album, POWER is released January 24th. The band will be heading on a March 2020 tour across the UK. Head to www.twinatlantic.com for the details.
