Track Review: 2020 // Lee Christian
Influenced by Prince and Beck, Lee Christian releases his new song ‘2020’ this month. He’s got a hard-working attitude because he releases a song as soon as he’s finished it. For instance, Lee created the song by accident in his basement on New Year’s Eve. It’s based around a bass riff from his friend’s soundcheck. He had some lyrics written that suited the dystopian future that we’re living in, and the rest of the song came out easily.

The song is futuristic because there are a lot of layers in the synths. The lyrics question everything from flying cars to climate change “Is this a predestined fait accompli that the world must fund?” It’s an accurate representation of the world, but Lee takes this on with a strong sense of humour. He’s got an impressive work rate, so I’m looking forward to hearing more of his songs very soon.
