Naipia have gained a reputation through being picked as ‘2020’s Ones to Watch’ by BBC Introducing. Additionally, Spotify has featured them on multiple playlists. They’ve got a catchy indie rock sound that recalls Circa Waves at their best and released a new song, ‘Bluestown’ this week.
Harry Dewhurst’s (bass) and Tom Dewhurst (drums) are a fluid rhythm section because their melodic grooves bring a refreshing approach. As a result, ‘Bluestown’ has a summery charm that’ll have you grinning from ear to ear.
The lyrics are about singer George Dewhurst recognizing his past behaviour and not letting it define him. As a result, he recognizes this and aims to be a better person. It has a positive anthemic chorus, which should propel Naipia onto bigger things.
