Track Review: Get Along So Well // Will Moore
With several years in the music industry touring across the USA with different bands, singer-songwriter Will Moore is no newbie to the scene. From hard rock and country to pop and folk and pop, Will has an idea of how to deliver each genre superbly. In 2016, he felt it was the time to begin his own band and deliver original material to the masses; so, he did. Teaming up with Yakup Trana (guitar), Lance Moore (vocals and keys) and Thane Mitchell (drums), the Seattle native is turning heads across the globe. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Get Along So Well’.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the lads took time to focus on and hone their sound – the result is ‘Get Along So Well’. The first release since the six-track EP Something To Visualize (released in 2018), ‘Get Along So Well’ is an evolution in their already genre-defying music. With a strong leaning toward The Police, the single has a nostalgic 80s synth-pop sound with tinges of indie-rock sprinkled throughout the melody. The dynamic synths merge effortlessly with pounding drums while electronic guitars dominate with scorching riffs.
Upbeat with a toe-tapping tempo, ‘Get Along So Well’ has a wistful, playful vibe that puts a grin on your face. Will’s rich vocals elegantly traverse the melodic arrangement enhancing a sense of warmth and joviality. I suppose this is apt considering the breezy song evokes emotions of meeting new people, building new relationships and generally having some fun.
Sincere, sentimental and intriguing, I can easily see people singing along to ‘Get Along So Well’ during a sold-out performance. I would love to be at that gig!
