Track Review: Naked in the Rain // Holy Monitor
Holy Monitor is a Greek rock band who mix traditional folk music from Epirus with psychedelic guitars. Listening to them is similar to driving on an open road with the windows down. The band will release their new album Southern Lights on the 26th February, and have just put out the lead single, ‘Naked In the Rain.’

‘Naked in the Rain’ is a cocktail of psychedelia with a hint of Oasis in the vocals. The relaxing vocal delivery works well with the funky guitars because they add colour. Additionally, the mixing is strong because all the instruments are balanced nicely. The chorus is great because Nikas’ drawling vocals recall Liam Gallagher but also have their own character. It’s very catchy as Nikas sings: “Naked in the rain / As you shine on, shine on.” It makes you drift into space because the effects on the guitar are very trippy.
If this is a taster of what Southern Lights will be like, then you’re in for a treat.
