Track Review: Spineless // NO:IR

Bristol nu-metallers NO:IR are a force to be reckoned with. Their aim is to bring destruction to the masses by creating a brand of melodic nu-metal. However other influences come into play here, for instance hip hop and emo. The band put out their new song ‘Spineless’ last week.

‘Spineless’ is full of rage which is emphasized by the shouty vocals. It’s about being unable to find your own voice when the authorities want to take that away from you. The lyrics bring this frustration to the forefront: “It’s so quiet / I need violence” because it sums up what people are feeling. The autotune is a fresh addition to the band’s sound because it sets them apart.

NO:IR is a band that will take the world by storm because they have lyrics that speak to many people. In addition, ‘Spineless’ has an angry sound that’ll shake up any moshpit.
